Audit logs

IMonitor-X is designed to generate audit logs for each critical operation that a user performs on it such as adding/editing/removing entities or UltraESB-X related management operations. These audit logs can be viewed by selecting the Audit Logs item from the main menu.

This tabular view displays the below information of each audit log in addition to a set of action buttons.

Timestamp (1)

The timestamp when this audit log was created

Subject (2)

The subject of the audit log

Username (3)

The name of the user whose action triggered this audit log. If the audit log was generated for a system initiated action, this value will be System.

Type (4)

The type of the audit log (e.g.: Project, ESB, User, etc)

Severity (5)

The severity of the audit log, which will be one of the following.

  • Info

  • Success

  • Warn

  • Error

The action buttons provide the following functionality for each audit log.

Displays the audit log details

Archive (7)

Archives the audit log by moving it into the archived audit table

These audit logs can be refined using the audit log filter which can be accessed from the button (8). Also the search box (9) can be used to search audit logs by their subject.
In addition, the View Archived Audit Logs (10) button can be used to access the archived audit log list.

Audit log filter

The audit log filter can be used to refine the list of audit logs. This provides the following three filter criteria that can be used either individually or in combination.

Username (1)

Filters the audit logs by the name of the user whose action triggered this audit log. This will match all the usernames that contain the provided filter value.

For example

The filter value jo will be matched for both john as well as joey while the value joh will be matched for john.

Type (2)

Filters the audit logs by their type (e.g.: Project, ESB, User or any other custom type). Select value as Any to match all types.

Severity (3)

Filters the audit logs by their severity, which will be one of the following. Select value as Any to match all severities.

  • Info

  • Success

  • Warn

  • Error

After selecting one or more above filters, click on Apply (4) button to apply those filters. The Reset Filters *(5) button can be used to reset all the filters.

The audit details pop-up shows all the following details of a particular audit log (1).

  • Timestamp

  • Subject

  • User

  • Type

  • Severity

  • Audit message

The Archive Audit Log (2) button can be used to archive this audit log.
